The Buddha image was cast in a style found in the late period of Ayutthaya Kingdom in Thailand (1350-1767). The Buddha is majestically seated on a three-tier throne in a "heroic posture" (virasana), with his legs folded over each other. The hands are in the gesture of Bhumisparsha mudra, a common mudra in Southeast Asia that means calling the earth to witness his steadfastness. An ornamental robe decorated with small jewels is elaborately draped over his left shoulder. The Buddha wears a flame-like usnisa on the head, influenced by the predated Sukhothai style.
